Let the session end

If your child says “finished”, moves away or wants another activity, acknowledge it. You can say, “Okay, we can stop here.” There is no requirement to finish every card in the topic.

Avoid bargaining for more answers

Promises and repeated requests for “just one more” can make a simple activity feel like a task. Save the remaining cards for another day. If your child wants to show you one favourite picture before leaving, follow their lead.

Look for a better fit

Next time, start with fewer cards, a favourite topic or an earlier point in the day. Some children prefer movement, stories or hands on play before sitting down. Learning can also happen during those activities.

Resume naturally

An organised set stays available in CDE Flash Card when your family is ready. There is no need to make up missed cards or keep a rigid schedule.
